91 km Ring Road for Nashik as ₹2,270 Crore Sanctioned for Road Infrastructure

In preparation for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027, the Maharashtra state government has approved a massive ₹2,270 crore allocation to bolster road infrastructure in and around Nashik. This major investment aims to ensure smoother traffic flow, improved accessibility, and better visitor experiences during the globally significant religious event.

Among the most notable projects is a 91-kilometre ring road around Nashik, which will streamline traffic movement and improve connectivity. A 21-km stretch of this ring road will connect directly to both the National Highway and the Samruddhi Mahamarg, easing access for pilgrims arriving from all parts of the country.

Key allocations under the approved budget include:

• ₹350 crore for six-laning and concreting of the Nashik-Trimbak Road

• ₹100 crore for widening of the Nashik-Dindori-Vani-Nanduri Road

• ₹215 crore for the Dugaon to Jaulke-Trimbak Road

• ₹50 crore for the Janori-Ozar International Airport Road

• ₹15 crore for a new bridge over the Unanda River on the Nashik-Dindori Road

Other major infrastructure upgrades include:

• ₹119 crore for the Bharveer-Taked-Baij Road

• ₹207 crore for the Chincholi-Vadgaon-Pingala-Vinchur-Dalvi-Pandhurli Road

• ₹200 crore for rural road developments across Wadiwarde, Dahegaon, Jategaon, Talegaon, Mahiravani, Dudgaon, and Ganeshgaon

• ₹163 crore for the Dugaon-Dhakambe-Jaulke Road

• ₹165 crore for the Shidi-Rahata Exit Road

• ₹215 crore for the Trimbakeshwar-Tupadevi-Talwade-Umrale-Dindori-Palkhed-Jopul-Pimpalgaon Road

• ₹163 crore for the Dugaon-June Ghagur-Dhakambe-Ambe-Dindori-Jaulke Road

• ₹205 crore for the Peth-Torangan-Harsul-Waghera-Amboli-Pahine-Ghoti Road

• ₹157 crore for the Aadgaon-Girnare-Waghera-Harsul-Ozarkhed Road

• ₹47 crore for the Trimbak-Devgaon-Khodala Road

• ₹17 crore earmarked for additional minor infrastructure works

Strategic Upgrades for a Seamless Kumbh Experience

During a recent high-level review meeting at the District Collector’s Office, Divisional Commissioner Praveen Gedam confirmed that the Public Works Department (PWD) will soon begin implementation. Given the anticipated influx of lakhs of devotees, the focus will be on ensuring wide, well-maintained roads, efficient traffic flow, and reliable connectivity.

Complementary works include:

• Restoration of the Godaghat

• Road and bridge maintenance in both urban and rural zones

• A detailed traffic and safety roadmap submitted by the Police Department, focusing on roads, ghats, and bridges crucial to Kumbh operations

With construction work slated to begin soon and an estimated two-year timeline, these developments are poised to transform Nashik’s infrastructure, not only enhancing the Kumbh Mela experience but also leaving a lasting legacy of connectivity and economic growth for the region.
